Breast Aysmmetry

There are many reasons as to why women choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery. One of these reasons is to correct breast asymmetry.

Asymmetric breasts can cause you to be uncomfortable, both with the way they look in clothes and with how bras fit. If you have asymmetric breasts, you may be a good candidate for breast augmentation surgery.

Candidates for breast augmentation surgery are over 18 and in good health. Women who have lost volume due to breast feeding or weight loss are also candidates for breast augmentation. Finally, breast augmentation can restore youthful perkiness to breasts that sag due to age.

There are two types of breast implants that can help with breast asymmetry: silicone and saline. Silicone implants are considered to look and feel more natural. One of the drawbacks of silicone implants is that they require a larger incision through which to place the breast implant. Saline implants require a smaller incision and are filled after being placed, allowing Dr. Bottger to be more precise with correcting your asymmetrical breasts.

Recovery after breast augmentation will take a few months. You will need to wear a special bra or compression garment for the first week, after which you will be able to return to most of your normal activities. It can take up to three months before you see the final results of your breast augmentation as the breast implants settle.
